At least one person is dead and four others are injured following a four-vehicle crash on I-295 Friday afternoon, an official from the Delaware River and Bay Authority has confirmed.
The injured have been taken an area hospital. No conditions were immediately available.
The crash, not far from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, has all but one lane of south I-295 closed, according to James Salmon, a spokesman for the authority.
This is causing backups into New Jersey.
“Major traffic issues southbound,” Salmon said.
