36-year-old man killed in deadly car crash, Hanover County Sheriff’s Office investigating

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash that killed a 36-year-old man on Friday.

On Friday, Feb. 9 at around 3 p.m., officers responded to the area of West Patrick Henry Road near Cripple Creek Lane for a head-on collision.

According to officials, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan was traveling east on West Patrick Henry Road when it entered the westbound lanes, striking a 2015 GMC Savana work van head-on.

The driver of the Chrysler Pacifica, identified as 36-year-old Chad Cooke, of Beaverdam, Virginia, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

According to officials, two additional occupants of the Chrysler Pacifica, as well as the driver of the GMC Savana work van were also transported to a nearby hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators from the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to collect information to determine the cause of the crash.
