Three people have died and one was injured in two crashes late Friday and early Saturday, Delaware State Police reported. Both crashes involved cars driving north in southbound lanes.
The first of the two fatal collisions happened in Felton at 10:10 p.m., according to state police. Troopers said a 17-year-old boy from Harrington was heading south on Route 13 near Reeves Crossing Road in a 2009 Toyota Scion. At the same time, a 25-year-old woman from Camden was driving her 2017 Chevrolet Malibu in the wrong direction in the same lane as the Scion.
The cars collided head on, police said, and spun into different southbound lanes. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, and their identities have not yet been released. The road was closed for about four hours, and the crash is still under investigation.
