A 16-year-old boy was injured in a shooting that occurred at a Highland Boulevard apartment complex Friday afternoon, according to the New Castle County Police Department.
Police said they found the teenager at Sophia’s Place West apartments with gunshot wounds on his upper and lower body. It is not clear how many times he was shot.
The boy was assisted by a good Samaritan, who helped him until emergency medical services and officers arrived, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, according to the police.
