A 13-year-old girl from Frankford died in a car crash that happened on Hollyville Road near Millsboro at about 1 p.m. on Monday, according to Delaware State Police.
Police determined that a 17-year-old girl from Frankford was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty north on Hollyville Road, and the 13-year-old was in the front-passenger seat.
The Jeep was approaching Harmony Cemetery Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane, rotating counterclockwise.

A 2016 Freightliner flatbed truck was traveling south in the same area. The driver of the Freightliner, a 26-year-old man from Salisbury, Maryland, applied the brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision, but the front right of the truck struck the passenger side of the Jeep, police said.
After impact, the Jeep was forced off the west side of the roadway and came to a rest. The Freightliner struck a tree with its front right before coming to rest south of the impact area.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to Beebe hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The 13-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Identification of the victim is pending notification of family.
The roadway was closed for about 3½ hours while the investigation was completed and the roadway was cleared, police said.
