One man died and another was badly injured Wednesday night after one motorcycle crashed into another near the New Castle-area Hooters, Delaware State Police said.
Troopers responded to Route 13 restaurant around 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports of the two-vehicle crash. There, they found a 39-year-old New Castle man critically injured and a 21-year-old man from Dover badly hurt.
Through their investigation, detectives learned the 21-year-old, who was driving a 2011 Kawasaki Vortex motorcycle, was leaving the Hooters parking lot to try to make a U-Turn on Route 13 when he crossed in front of the 39-year-old.
That man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was driving a 1999 Honda FLHXS north on Route 13. Police said they have not yet determined how fast he was going, but added that the investigation is ongoing.
